Best, so far, in lake Charles. First impressions don't do this place justice. Service is, by far, extraordinary. Our waiters, frank and Khalil, went far and beyond to please us in every way. The food was exceptional. Salads were nicely prepared, the right amount of dressing and quantity of ingredients. Our main dish, special of the day and a beef tenderloin were just PERFECT. Finally a chocolate soufflé ended our culinary trip. Every town needs a place like this. Enjoy everybody

Romantic date in Lake Charles. The service was amazing with a great wine list. Food was great and the atmosphere was quiet. The chef came out and spoke with us which is always nice. For the money this is not my first choice for a date night. I'm still partial to Ember.

My husband and I love this place to deeply, that our move to Dallas has left us with a hole in our hearts... and our stomachs. Every trip to this establishment was a celebration of cuisine and a treat divine. If you have a chance, please don't be put off by the prices, as their servings are fair and impeccable.

Absolutely delicious! The waiter was very helpful and courteous! Dim lighting and quite romantic. Definitely one of my favorite places in Lake Charles!

My husband and I have been trying to go here for months, since a couple we dined with on a cruise recommended it to us. We are so disappointed we haven't had the chance to dine here sooner! The service was excellent, the best we've had in the area. The atmosphere was nice, with lovely views of nice landscaping outside. The food was fantastic! I started with the lobster bisque, which was good. My husband had the special, turtle soup, which is apparently very popular...it was so delicious! We each had one of the specials for our main course. Mine was the snapper with saffron risotto & spanakopita & it was mouth watering. My husband had the Beef Wellington, which he said was "perfectly cooked" even though they didn't ask how he preferred it, I have to agree, it melted in my mouth. We ended the meal with coffee (which was perfect) and the chocolate soufflé. The soufflé was wonderful, we'll have to try the Grand Mariner one next time based on all of the other reviews. We will definitely go back.

Loved our experience here. Food was beautifully presented and delicious. Hubby and I both had the red snapper with asparagus, artichokes, capers, and sun-dried tomatoes. Yum! Charming, cozy atmosphere. Quiet, intimate setting. Will definitely return.

I have only had the pleasure of eating their desserts, and let me say, "It's the best dining experience in Lake Charles!" I cannot compliment the staff enough, very professional and well trained! I cannot wait to have the full dining experience!

Truly as good as it gets! I've brought friends from New Orleans, Houston and even New York and everyone says the same thing. This restaurant can hang with any restaurant in the country as far as high-end quality restaurants go. The food and service is magnificent whether you go for lunch or dinner. Lunch is usually a pretty good value and Mohammed and Arthur are true perfectionists. The scallops as an appetizer are as good as anything I've ever eaten!

I absolutely love this place. The service is impeccable and the food lives up to all my high expectations every time I visit. I really wish they would do the Cesar salad table side every night though.

Very yummy. Great service. Everyone in my party loved their dinners. Must save room for dessert. Remember to order in advance as the soufflés take 30 minutes to prepare. I make sure to come to this restaurant whenever I am in town. The nightly specials are always a good way to go.

Another gluten free gem in Lake Charles, hidden from all the fat and fried food that is here. It was an accident I found this menu online and I thank God weekly that I did. I love the atmosphere, the food and the wait staff. This place would fit in much better in the northeast part of the US, its not meant for the tastes here. The dishes have all been amazing, so much flavor, perfectly paired and cooked to perfection. The wait staff is friendly, not overbearing and know their menu, especially for a guest with an allergy. They have worked with me everytime. The last time the BF and I went they had a piano player and his son, it was a tuesday night. This place is made for people with class. I have had seafood both times, cooked perfect with a light sauce. The BF had a roast, cut with a fork and had zero fat. Next time I am saving room for dessert, homemade souffles. We will be here often in my 8 months here. Great for special occasions for people who dont want to open their wallet often for great food. I will add, much better deal here for food and portion for price than Ember steakhouse in the casino. I recommend always making a reservation.

Went for lunch, it was pretty empty. Started with the lobster bisque, it is topped with a flaky crust and so tasty! My entrée was the wild salmon served with risotto and sautéed spinach. So great to have good fish, usually every fish in LC is fried. For dessert I tried the flourless chocolate cake. It is very sweet and dense but loved the assorted berries with it. Can't wait to go back and try the duck and soufflé. We had great service as well.

Was tired of eating the fare at L'Auberge, and found this cute little gem tucked away in a pretty random business park in LC. Quite a selection for their dinner service (though really only one dish featuring truffle!), and even though I was dining by myself that evening, I ended up probably eating for two. Duck confit over risotto was nicely prepared, though I would've preferred the risotto slightly more toothsome. Pot au feu was also nice. The comforting (and rich) broth was perfect for the cool winter evening (and had a very nourishing quality - fennel was a nice touch), although the scallop was just a touch over. The piece de resistance, however, was the Grand Marnier souffle - a veritable cloud of delicious. Delicate, airy, beautiful. Definitely, one of the better souffles I've had. All in all, a pleasant dining experience, perhaps a little spendy, but definitely an unexpected surprise. Can't wait until to try more of the menu.

Pricey for what it was. When an entree is already $30+, I think its appropriate to have a side salad included or just another couple bucks. It was a little disapointing when the $10 "house" salad was full of grit. The sufflee had a tasty crust but tasted like raw egg white at the bottom.

Quite possibly one of the best restaurants I've been to. Ever. It's in some obscure suburban neighborhood of Lake Charles, a very unlikely location for such a fine restaurant. However the courteous wait staff and superb wine list compliment the delicately spiced and delicious food. Might go so far as to suggest it's worth a few hours drive to Lake Charles just for this!

Gee...I have been here four times now and I really do not know how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars. Everytime I have been here the service has been impeccable and the staff knowledgeable. All the appetizers are first class. The onion soup is about as good as it gets. The scallops are to die for, the best I have ever had anywhere. They were cooked in a Rockefeller style, and being for New Orleans I was not too excited since I have been eating "a la Rock " since I was a child. But the waiter recommended them. They are a must have. The Osso buco is heavenly ...au jus ...delicate, tender, and flavorful served alongside a clean, light, perfect risotto. The lamb chops are succulent. The food here is as good as any you could find in the best restaurants in New Orleans. The ambience is open and airy without pretention, yet lovely. The wine list is excellent. Highly recommended.

I took my boyfriend to Lake Charles for his birthday weekend since it is a close enough drive and we could get a little gambling in (we are from Austin). I found two restaurants online that seemed nicer and highly recommended. La Truffe Sauvage was leaps and bounds above the other. I'm still drooling over the Paella I had!! The food was amazing and service fantastic. It isn't cheap but definitely WORTH IT!! I'm trying to find any reason to go back to that small town just so I can eat at this restaurant again!!

Definitely worth the money. Dimly lit wonderful ambiance. Soft background music makes it romantic to bring your wife (or girlfriend) the food is delicious. Everthing I've tried on the menu was both well presented and quite tasty.

Wow! This place is amazing! The wait staff was extremely professional, courteous, and very attentive. The food was amazing. The food was fresh and at the temperature it should be for the dish and the flavor of each dish outstanding. Out of all of the places we have eaten in the U.S. La Truffe Sauvage is by far the top of the list. This list includes Da Marcos and Noe of Houston, TX and many other fine dining adventures from our journeys. If you have the opportunity and are in Lake Charles take the time and tummy to enjoy this true jewel of Louisiana and our Country.

I found this place through Yelp and decided to try it since there aren't too many places in Lake Charles that offer fine dining. I'll be fair and say that the service was five stars along with the quality of the ingredients, but I'm docking two stars for poor execution of my dish. This place offers French or french inspired dishes but I doubt that they kill you with the black pepper in France...I mean WOW! They also overcooked the lobster and shrimp in my seafood dish to the point of being rubbery. Too pricey to make these types of errors. Won't be able to give it a second chance since I was in town for business.

Three words: Grand Marnier souffle-oh my! This is a cute little cottage tucked away in Lake Charles. Thanks again Yelpers, because I wouldn't have found this place without you. They have a nice wine list and also offer cocktails. I started with a glass of wine and the French onion soup. My companion had the scallops appetizer. I know it was just an appetizer, but it was a shame there were only 3-I could have eaten a dozen! They were so buttery and sweet with garlic and spinach-mmmm. The presentation was beautiful as they were served in the shell on a bed of rock salt. For entrees, we had the red snapper and rack of lamb. The red snapper was crispy on the outside and moist and tender in the inside. It was served with grits and asparagus-delish! Someone else mentioned too much black pepper and I do think this dish had a bit too much. I am not a pepper fan, but I didn't really mind because the taste was excellent, but I did notice it. The topper of course was the Grand Marnier souffle. So light and delicious! They also brought us homemade truffles with our check-yum! Our waiter was excellent and spent quite a bit of time talking to us about the area. When in town, I will definitely visit here again. There were so many items on the menu that I wanted to try, so I hope to get a chance to try them! Yes, it's a bit pricey, but I felt it was worth it and I have spent more at places like Ruth's Chris.
